On this Mount Cook Day Tour from Queenstown, you will experience the unique alpine landscapes of the Southern Alps as you travel with us from Queenstown through Mackenzie Country and into Aoraki Mount Cook National Park, home to snow-capped mountains, impressive glaciers and New Zealand’s highest peak, Aoraki Mount Cook (‘Cloud Piercer’).
Departing from Queenstown at 7.30am, start the tour off with pick up from Queenstown in one of our premium vehicles. Travel in comfort and style in a Mercedes van fully equipped with panoramic windows for superior viewing with complimentary wifi, sit back, relax and enjoy the stunning scenery.
Visit iconic central South Island locations such as Cromwell, Lindis Pass, Omarama, Twizel and the bright turquoise waters of Lake Pukaki before entering Aoraki Mount Cook National Park. Enjoy 3 hours (approx.) in Mount Cook Village. Take this time to enjoy one of the many optional activities or walks available in the area.
Altitude Mount Cook Tours are limited to a maximum of 16 passengers, ensuring small groups so everyone can enjoy the best New Zealand hospitality that we have to offer, as well as enjoying lots of fun and informative commentary from your local guide and plenty of off-the-beaten-track visits away from the crowds.
The 12 hour Mount Cook tour departs Queenstown at 7:30am and returns around approximately 7:30pm.

Glacier Explorer
Arriving at approximately 12pm, your guide will transport you to the Hermitage where you will check-in for your Glacier Explorer experience. Take a short bus journey to the Tasman Valley, then a 25 minute alpine walk through the National Park to where you board the Glacier Explorers boat for a one hour experience on the lake, getting up close to glacial icebergs and learning about this unique and ever-changing environment.
Ultimate Alpine Experience
Welcome to Mt Cook! Arriving at approximately 12 pm, your guide will transport you to Mt Cook Airport where you will check-in for your Ultimate Alpine Experience. You will have a quick safety briefing before taking to the skies on a unique 45 minute scenic flight which combines both a ski plane and helicopter, taking you past Aoraki Mt Cook, over the Tasman Valley and its glacial lakes, with a unique landing on the Tasman Glacier. After your flight you will return to Mt Cook Airport and have additional free time to enjoy Mt Cook Village.
Scenic Heli Flight
Welcome to Mt Cook! Arriving at approximately 12 pm, your guide will transport you to Mt Cook Airport where you will check-in with INFLITE for a Tasman Taster experience. You will have a quick safety briefing before taking to the skies on a unique 25 minute scenic flight in one of their state of the art helicopters. Fly over the Tasman Lake, past Aoraki Mt Cook, with a stunning alpine landing on Brass Peak or Liebig Dome, within the National Park. After your flight you will return to Mt Cook Airport and have additional free time to enjoy Mt Cook Village.
